Especially in historical performance practice, artistic-scientific work is part of the everyday life of a creative artist. Music cannot do without scholarship, and scholarship cannot do without music. At a time when this field of work is taking on a whole new meaning, Remchinger Abendmusiken invites you to an intensive week of work towards a concert that will be prepared and organised by musicians and scholars alike.
At the Abendmusikenkolleg, music students work on baroque chamber music as an ensemble, and science students develop the framework in which this music can be performed. A team of internationally renowned lecturers takes the time to incorporate their thoughts and ideas and respond to each individual question. Personal advice, workshops and stage coaching are also on the programme! The college reserves the right to invite further lecturers.

With music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, Petrus Crohn and self-submitted proposals, a programme will be developed from 30 October to 3 November to which all instruments of baroque music are invited. During the course days, young students from all over the world will have the opportunity to network in the fields of classical music, musicology and journalism, to work together on the future of historically-informed performance practice and to start and discuss group projects that help to understand the other, artistic or scientific, view of music and cultural history. In order to consolidate a vibrant future for "early music", discussion sessions and seminars will take place after the rehearsals, taking into account current developments in classical music. After the study week, both students and listeners should come away from the discussions, music-making and social get-togethers strengthened and with increased knowledge.
Students of (baroque) music who are enrolled at a university or music high school on 3 November 2024 are invited to take part.
The individual programme items for the final concert will be rehearsed in the ensemble, discussed in class and analysed with academics. In joint seminars, you will work on your individual career strategy and discuss the future of European baroque music.
Would you like to hold a seminar or talk to one of the professors in person? Send us your project!

Music can unfold perfectly in many spaces, but nowhere can it be as surprising and versatile as away from the hustle and bustle.
In Remchingen there is the opportunity to find peace and quiet without being cut off from the outside world and to work on a project with complete concentration. The Remchingen Evening Music Festival is also the ideal platform to present the results.
Only a participation fee of €320.00 will be charged. This is made up of the lecturer's fee, accommodation, catering, public transport tickets and any entrance fees.
